Fathers & Mothers

During the past two weeks of class, we’ve had fathers and mothers in the faith come and impart mass amounts of wisdom and revelation for which I am so grateful!

In one week we had three incredible leaders from YWAM - founders, Loren & Darlene Cunningham and long-time YWAMer David Hamilton. David encouraged us to pray that the Holy Spirit would be like a salt shaker in our lives; causing us to thirst more after Jesus. Loren spoke on how we have the privilege of creating with God and how he is the only God that is infinite and personal. Darlene gave us 9 points on how to keep on keeping on. Some of my favorites include:

Remind yourself you are not self-appointed but God-appointed.

Be loyal to God - nothing is wrong with God; nothing has been or will be.

Serve for the glory of God. If you serve for yourself, you’ll never get enough affirmation or encouragement.

Self-pity is the greatest robber of joy.

To round out the week, musicologist and walking revival encyclopedia, Ray Hughes joined us. Wow. Story after story he shared of men and women who have walked in friendship with God and therefore changed the world. From well-known men like D.L. Moody to the fairly unknown like Sam Jones. One of my favorite lines from him, “God isn’t a formula. He’s a father.”

This past week my whole class was blown away by a lady named Jackie Pullinger. This British woman who has given her life to minister in Hong Kong to the lost, poor and destitute challenged us in numerous ways. She walks with Jesus and her life and the fruit of her ministry are more than enough proof. Here are some things to chew on that she shared from this week…

“God can only do through us what we allow Him to do in us.”

“When you lay down your rights, you see everything as a gift.”

“It’s not my right to have more or my punishment to have less.”

“If it cost Jesus his life, why would we think it would be cheap for us?”

“When you use up all of your heart, you get His.”

“Before you’ve paid the price, it costs everything. After you’ve paid the price, it costs nothing.”

“Too often our good news is just good advice.”

“Multiplication doesn’t work when you have a secret supply.”

These men and women have laid a foundation that I am so grateful for. They are encouraging us to go further than them and they are sharing with us the secrets of how to do it. They told us some of the hard lessons they have learned through 50 plus years of ministry.

Friday night we held a BBQ for local people to come to that we have met through the past month of community outreaches. We had a number of people share testimonies about what Jesus has done in their life and then the Gospel was preached. A handful of people accepted Jesus for the first time, people were healed of physical ailments and people were delivered and set free!

The amazingness continues this week as Lou Engle, Eddie Brown and Jake Hamilton join us for the last week of Circuit Riders before we’re launched all over.

Revival is a reality! Jesus is real and He is coming back. There is going to be a wedding! Invite people to the wedding!

About Me

I’m enamored with a man named Jesus and because of this love I am seeking to share Him with anyone and everyone. I plan to waste my life on Him so that He might receive love and glory and the reward of His sufferings.
