To the Lord your God belongs the heavens, even the highest heavens the earth and everything in it. Yet the Lord set his affection on your forefathers and loved them, and he chose you, their descendants above all the nations
Our team has been going to the hospital twice a week for the past three weeks. Praying for the sick and sharing the Gospel. Each time we’ve gone we’ve seen healings, salvation and freedom! One quick story from yesterday.
I went to the hospital with my teammates Lia and Joanna. We sat outside on a bench and started praying for the hospital and the patients. Then it started to rain. (It has rained every day for weeks now! Especially when we start praying!) So, we headed to the entryway of the hospital to get out of the rain. Since our last time at the hospital, we aren’t “technically” allowed inside. Basically, we got kicked out. But, we can still pray! As we were sitting on the bench I struck up a conversation with a doctor who was on break. He works in the orthopedic department. I asked him if he’s ever seen any miracles. He told me about one boy who’s wrist was so badly slit that they were going to have to amputate it. He went to tell the parents who were Muslim and praying for the boy outside. Turned out the boy ended up getting healed. At least that is what I understood from his broken English.
After chatting for a while he asked if I wanted to come inside and see the Emergency Room. I quickly agreed and went inside. Security might keep us out, but I was given special access - favor! We walked into the room, and he would take a look at the x-rays and then prescribe something or the patient would have a cast put on. Patients were streaming in and I was recognizing most of them since they had passed me on their way into the hospital. One girl in particular stood out. She is in her teens and had injured her ankle. I helped her hop up the stairs to the hospital as her mom was on one side and I was on the other.
Here was my chance.
Just like Elijah had confidence that his God was bigger than Baal, I knew that God could heal just like the miracle the doctor had mentioned before.
I told the doctor that I believe my God heals too and asked him if it would be okay if I prayed for the girl. He said sure. So I went, laid hands on her ankle and prayed with all my might.
The swelling went down. The pain went away. She could move her ankle.
Her face was beaming and her mother was so thankful.
They still ended up putting a cast on her ankle. But I truly believe that the Lord ministered to that girl yesterday. Through this I got to share the Gospel with the doctor and am believing that Jesus is working in his heart.
Just like in the days of Elijah, God is showing himself to be the one true God.
There shall be no competition. He is real, alive and moving throughout the nations!
