Say, what?

Have you ever had a moment where you were reading something but your mind wasn’t fully engaged, then you read something startlingly and you had to go back and reread it just to make sure it wasn’t as crazy as what you thought it said?

I had a moment like that recently while I was reading in Second Thessalonians.

“And then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord Jesus will overthrow with the breath of his mouth and destroy by the splendor of his coming. ” (2:8)

He will overthrow and destroy. But not with the weapons we’re used to. How about the weapons of breath and splendor?

The imagery of this verse astounds me and opens up the window a bit further on my understanding of the majesty and glory of Jesus.

Just by His breath.

Just by His splendor.

Evil is conquered.

This is the Jesus we proclaim!

I’m enamored with a man named Jesus and because of this love I am seeking to share Him with anyone and everyone. I plan to waste my life on Him so that He might receive love and glory and the reward of His sufferings.
